Science and Social Studies Tests
This week we will be having both a Science test on Wednesday, and a Social Studies test on Thursday.
Review sheets will come home with students on Monday. In Science we have been learning about how
plants reproduce and pass on traits.  Ask your child to tell you how selection works. In Social Studies
we have been learning the basics of Michigan geography, including what makes Michigan special with
our state symbols.  Please use homework time this week to review for these two tests with your child.

Reading Counts
Our Reading Counts program is up and running!  The third grade goal for this marking period is to
earn 15 points.  Be sure to check in with your child to make sure they are reading and working
towards taking tests to meet this goal.  I will be reviewing your child’s progress so far at conferences
this week.

Fall Conferences
If I am not meeting with you this week, I look forward to meeting with you during our
November 7th and 8th conference times.

Nutcracker Date
As most of you know, the Nutcracker is performed by third graders each year.  Students have already
been busy learning all of the songs. Here is the link for your student to practice all of the songs at
home  https://3rdgradenutcracker.weebly.com/.  The Nutcracker performance is scheduled for Monday,
December 10th, with a school performance at 1:30, and the evening performance at 6:00.
Mark your calendar!
