Thank you to our parent chaperones who joined us on Friday! The children had a great time
and a wonderful experience. Our students were very well-behaved and asked lots of good
questions. I can't wait to hear more about how much they learned. We will be doing some
writing this week to showcase some of the experiences and knowledge gained from this trip.
I will be posting pictures from the trip soon, so you will be able to see all the fun and learning
that was had by all!
Track Meet
The John Hall Elementary Track meet will be held at Upton Middle School next Friday, May 10th,
at 11:30. The meet usually lasts for a couple of hours. All third, fourth, and fifth grade students
will participate in four events. Third graders do a standing long jump, a 60 M dash, a running long
jump, and a 100 M dash. In addition, each class from all three schools will compete in a 400 M
relay race. Mr. Pfahler has selected four boys and four girls who will represent our classroom by
running in this event. Please check the weather and have your child dress accordingly. We’d love
to have you join us!
Multiplication Ice Cream Quizzes
Our multiplication quiz challenge for learning Multiplication facts continues! Students have started
earning ice cream scoops, and toppings as they pass quizzes for each level of facts. Please
continue to work with your child on multiplication 0-10. IXL, flashcards, and XtraMath (a new
program we are using) are good tools to practice facts. Students need to be fluent in these facts
by the end of the year.
