Holiday Concert
On Friday morning, December 21st, the district 2nd – 5th graders will be going to St. Joseph High School for the Annual Holiday Concert.  This is an amazing opportunity to hear our high school band, choir, and orchestra students perform. We will return to school before lunch.
Reading Counts
Please look for your child’s Reading Counts progress report to come home this Monday!   The goal for this trimester is 18 points.  If your child needs to catch up on points, holiday break would be a great time for this.  Reading Counts tests can be taken from home, Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM.

Sock Collection
One of our third graders, Donevin Ruchti, along with his sister at Upton Middle Schoo, are collecting socks for the Skate for Change program.  There will be a collection box this week here at Lincoln. Please send in socks if you are able.  Here is a link to that site to hear more information:  Skate for Change website .

Have a wonderful holiday break and
enjoy the time with your family!

Nutcracker Help!
Help! We will need to take down all of the Nutcrackers off the wall, the decorations, and the lights from the stage. If there are any parents that could volunteer to do this on Thursday, Dec.13th, that would be great! The gym doesn’t host any gym classes on this day, so you can come anytime besides lunch 11:30-1. The morning or after school would be best. Let me know if you can help! THANK YOU!

Word Study
Please make sure your child continues to practice their word study word list each week.  We have added all our lists to Spelling City.  This is a program that allows students to practice the words online.  The link is: www.spellingcity.com/users/lincoln3rd and is also available on the teacher itsLearning page. Spelling City can be written as a “My Choice” assignment on their weekly homework.

Ice Skating with Buddies
Thanks to our PTO and the City of St. Joseph, our Lincoln School K-5 students will be able to ice skate for free at the Howard Ice Arena this Thursday.   Our class will walk with our buddies in Mrs. Bartz’s class to and from the ice rink. We will skate from 12:45-1:30. The ice-skating and skate rental is FREE for our students and any parents that can come and help.  The more adults we can have helping students with skates, the better! Students are encouraged to bring their own ice skates. The number of skates per size is limited. If your child has their own skates, label with their name and allow them to bring them that day. Skates brought to and/or from school on the bus must be in a duffle bag or a brown paper bag. Safety/protective helmets are also encouraged & welcomed.
